Teen rapper and actor

One of eight entries in ABDO's Contemporary Lives series about current music and acting celebrities, the book follows the transformation of Aubrey Drake Graham from his birth in Canada to becoming a child actor, then a musical star. After his parents divorced, Drake's mother signed him with a talent agency and his first break into the entertainment business was the popular Canadian television series, Degrassi: The Next Generation. During the eight years he worked on the series, Drake also began rapping, putting out mix tapes and working in clubs. He eventually achieved the star status he now enjoys. The numerous color photos will be a hit with teens; they show Drake's collaboration with rap and hip-hop artists. Teens will enjoy the book but it will become dated rather quickly.
