This book is excellent and very helpful. Inside of this book the author has described all the basic of C# programming. I really needed to learn about this programming and my course tutor also suggested me about this book. I purchased this book a few weeks ago and by reading this book I am impressed. This book really fulfilled my expectation and by reading this book I got my questions answers. By the help of this book I have learned about the basic features of C#, variables, operations techniques and much more. This book guided me about the control structure of C#. Overall, I am pretty sure this book is perfect the beginners. I am glad to read this book and I will recommend this book to them, who wants to lean basic C# programming.

Good Starter but a lot of errors, unfortunately

I am new to C++ but have done a fair bit of programming in C, Objective C and Java, so I thought i'd take a look at a "crash course" to get me started. This book is really good for that, but it has a lot of errors, which although not really affecting the readability of the instruction - are very frustrating and make me wonder if the book was proof read at all. That aside, i think the book does a good job, I think it would suit beginners who want a starter book before jumping into a large over-whelming text book which they may not understand right off the bat.

I really enjoyed how this book not only explained how to do some pretty cool things with C++, but it also included a history of C++. This crash course is an excellent introduction to the topic and I feel well versed on the topic after this single book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is new to the subject and looking for a clean concise explanation for how to get started. There are numerous examples that will contribute to your better understanding. Grab this book if you would like to learn more or keep it as a future reference.

Rohde is the President of Communications Consulting Corporation, Executive Vice President of Ansoft Corporation, Chairman of Synergy Microwave Corporation, and a partner in Rohde & Schwarz, Munich. He is Honorary Visiting Professor of Electronic and Microwave Engineering at the University of Bradford, UK and is the author of six books. He resides in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. Jerry Whitaker is the president of Technical Press, and the former editor of Broadcast Engineering. He is the author of more than a dozen technical books, including McGraw-Hill's Standard Handbook of Video and Television Engineering. He lives in Morgan Hill, California. This Book Rocks!

To the guy who is disappointed in the DSP content: The book's synopsis clearly indicates that it contains SOME DSP material with this statement: "updates on all crucial DSP elements", but that does not mean it's a DSP reference volume. If you want DSP design instruction, try "Digital Signal Processing Technology" or something similar. If you want SDR material, also seek out the appropriately-focused material. This book is meant to be a general design guide and, as such, I think you have done it quite a disservice by unfairly rating it so low, based on only a single aspect of it's otherwise excellent coverage of communications receiver topologies. It's like you had a temper tantrum.

Anyway, the content in this book is exactly what I was looking for! This book will be the first step I will use in my own designs. It breaks down each building block of superhet receivers in a practical manner with only the required mathematics to support them.

Subtitle misleading

I needed a book on software radio and so I gladly bought this book when I came across it. I expected a lot of detailed information about DSP and software radio.
It's a thick book: 700 plus pages. However, DSP related contents only add up to 50 pages or so. Detailed treatment of software radio cannot be found anywhere. Even the itemized index has only one instance of 'software radio'. This book is mostly on (analog) circuit design issues for amps, mixers, oscillators, PLLs, etc.
I strongly doubt the authors' intention of using the subtitle 'DSP, Software Radios, and Design'. If you want to know more about software radio, you wouldn't get it from this book.

Good Overview

Concise summaries of the difference in views that conservatives, liberals, and radicals have of a variety of economic policies. Some arguments for the various political views are omitted, but it provides good coverage nevertheless. (I focused only on the conservative and liberal views, I have no feel for radical views on economic policies.)
